Cell lysis: a complex and crucial challenge
Before any molecular biology analysis (such as RT-qPCR) can be performed, the DNA and RNA contained in microorganisms must be released. This is the role of cell lysis, a critical step that determines the quality and reliability of the results.
Today, this step still very often relies on manual extraction protocols: mechanical grinding, enzymatic digestion, chemical treatments, etc. These methods are time-consuming, tedious, error-prone, and often require specific equipment and advanced skills.
MicroWave Lyser is based on a patented breakthrough innovation: the controlled use of a qualified microwave combined with a high-performance support device called an antenna.
This antenna, designed in a specific alloy, allows the waves to be concentrated and channeled with extreme precision towards the tube containing the sample.
This design guarantees:
Homogeneous and localized heat distribution;
Optimal lysis in just 10 seconds, regardless of the matrix and targeted microorganisms (yeasts, bacteria, spores);
